INK-JET MATERIALS USAGE GUIDE

Bond Paper: Inexpensive cost, low image resolution. Not waterproof or durable.

Coated Paper: Inexpensive cost, higher contrast and image resolution. Not waterproof or durable.

Resin Coated Paper: Inexpensive, suitable for lower cost, lower resolution photographic images, will accept moderate ink coverage. Not waterproof or durable.

PVC Films Matte or Glossy. Tear resistant, easy to handle and lay down, water resistant, or waterproof when Sihl films used. Ideal for temporary outdoor banners, or for mounting to foamcore or cardstock. Excellent print quality.

Photographic Papers Matte or Glossy. High quality images with photo realistic appearance. Different films have different levels of gloss and weight. Not water resistant, use heavier weight papers for easy mounting and laminating.

Self Adhesive Papers & Films Available in coated paper, photographic papers and films. No glue necessary for mounting to cardstock or foamcore. Easy to use.

Vinyl Films Easy to use self adhesive vinyl can be mixed with computer cut vinyl films to produce signs and banners. Waterproof when laminated or when you use Sihl vinyl with Aquabond, SpectraPrint, ENCAD GO, 3M or Independent inks. Great for short term magnetic signs, banners and promotional items. Available in glossy and matte finishes. Excellent (near photographic) print quality

Waterproof Paper Paper becomes waterproof when printed with Aquabond, Encad GO, 3M SpectraPrint or Independent Inks. Great for any short term promotional use. Use Banner Ups to make into an instant banner. Make A-Frame signs by attaching to plywood backing. Great whenever waterproof is important! Print quality is adequate, particularly when viewed from a distance.

Waterproof Tyvek Specially coated Tyvek becomes waterproof when printed with Aquabond, Encad GO, 3M SpectraPrint or Independent Inks. Great for any short term promotional use. Use Banner Ups to make into an instant banner. . Great whenever waterproof is important! Print quality is good, particularly when viewed from a distance. Expect a 3 month outdoor life.
